Kristin Short, M.S.Ed.
Financial Planning Associate
Kristin assists with both firm operations and financial plan development. Kristin is simultaneously working to finish her Ph.D. in Financial Planning at the University of Georgia (UGA). Her background in education fuels her passion for helping students, professionals, and families better understand their personal finances.
At UGA, Kristin implements the Graduate Financial Education Program, teaches undergraduate coursework, and has served as a financial counselor at UGA’s ASPIRE Clinic, providing pro-bono services to clients. She also engages in financial planning research and has published and presented research in the area of graduate student financial education. In 2018, Kristin was awarded the AFCPE Student Scholarship for her work in student loan repayment planning.
Prior to pursuing financial planning, Kristin earned her Bachelor of Science (magna cum laude with honors) from Baylor University, where she played intercollegiate club soccer, studied abroad in Argentina, and served as President of Delta Delta Delta sorority. She continued her education at Baylor to receive her Master of Science in Education, which led her to a position in the Division of Student Affairs at UGA where she was named the 2015 New Professional of the Year.
Kristin grew up on the west coast, from California to British Columbia, settling ultimately in Washington state where she spent the majority of her upbringing. She enjoys spending time with family, solving jigsaw puzzles, playing the drums, and serving at her local church.
