Prior to joining Elwood & Goetz, Contey spent over four years at a local wealth management firm in an advisory capacity with a focus on corporate executives, independent women, and business owners. As a financial planner, she develops comprehensive financial plans and manages new client relationships. For her work, Contey was honored as one of the Association of African American Financial Advisors' 50 Under 50 in 2020.
A love of all things personal finance coupled with a desire to help people achieve their financial goals motivates Contey daily. Her commitment to providing a high level of service to her clients is evident through her caring, proactive approach and exceptional can-do attitude. In addition, she is extremely passionate about furthering diversity within financial planning and volunteers her time to help mentor and engage women and people of color who are new to the field.
Outside of the office, Contey sits on the University of Georgia’s Financial Planning Alumni Advisory Board and serves as the membership chair for the Association of African American Financial Advisors (AAAA). In her free time, she enjoys volunteering with Victory Church, cheering on the Atlanta Falcons and Georgia Bulldogs, and exploring new places and cultures with her husband and two daughters.
