      What are your fees?

We are a fee-only financial planning firm. That means our success is measured exclusively by yours. We do not sell third-party products or accept commissions — ever.

We don't have shareholders; we have stakeholders: our clients. They are our only source of revenue.

Our annual fee is equal to 1% of investable assets under management for the first $2,000,000 managed. The blended fee gradually decreases to 0.25% for all assets above $10,000,000.

The management fee includes all ongoing, comprehensive financial planning and investment management services.

Because we focus our expertise on providing ongoing, comprehensive wealth management, we are best suited to serve people with at least $1,000,000 in investable assets under our management.

To maintain our high service level and value, high-earners with fewer than $1,000,000 in investable assets will be charged a supplemental fee of $250 per month and must meet specific household income requirements ($150,000 for single households and $250,000 for married/joint households).

What’s included with the annual fee?

Our management fee includes all ongoing, comprehensive financial planning and investment management services.  There are no hidden or incremental fees at our firm. All clients who meet our minimum requirements receive the same level of personalized, responsive service.

What are the minimum assets required to be a client at Elwood & Goetz?

Because we focus our expertise on providing ongoing, comprehensive wealth management, we are best suited to serve clients with at least $1,000,000 in investable assets (excluding real estate) who want to delegate all their financial planning and investment management.

If you have fewer than $1,000,000 in assets, you can still work with our team by:

      • Surpassing an annual household income amount of $150,000 (single) or $250,000 (joint/married); and
      • Paying a supplemental monthly fee of $250

What is Elwood & Goetz’s client retention rate?

We are grateful to serve more than 500 households — and humbled to have an annual client retention rate above 99%.

Where is Elwood & Goetz located?

We have office locations in Athens, Georgia; Atlanta; Charleston, South Carolina; and Naples, Florida. However, our service model is not limited by our physical office space: we proudly serve clients in more than 35 states.

We are fully capable of developing and optimizing your financial plan wherever you are. And we often travel to visit clients across the country.

We offer both in-person and virtual meetings for our prospects and clients.

What does fiduciary mean? Is Elwood & Goetz a fiduciary?

Yes, Elwood & Goetz is a legal fiduciary. As an independent firm and fiduciary agent, we willfully accept a legal and ethical obligation to put our clients first — and to always serve their best interests.

That may seem like a no-brainer for a profession that manages clients’ finances (and for us, it always has been), but many wealth management firms aren't true fiduciaries. That means they may make decisions in their best interest — like maximizing profits or commissions — instead of yours.

We do not accept any commission or kickbacks of any kind — period.

Because we’re an independent firm, we are not bound to any specific investment funds or products. That means we’re always able to offer unbiased, evidence-based advice and select from the entire universe of portfolio options based on your unique situation and goals.

Deep to our core, we believe this is not only the best way — it’s the right way. And for us, it’s the only way.
