Description & Responsibilities

At Elwood & Goetz, we work in an ensemble model, collaborating in teams to serve our clients. Unlike traditional wealth management firms, our clients aren’t assigned just one advisor. They’re assigned a team of advisors to help them navigate their financial life.

The Senior Financial Planner position is crucial to our planning team success and essential in helping us maintain effective and responsive client service. This position reports to the firm’s equity partners and managing directors.

Our planning teams typically consist of a managing director, senior financial planner, and associate financial planner. Teams work directly with households and businesses to design, deliver, and implement comprehensive financial plans.

Specifically, this position will be responsible for:

  • Co-managing client relationships and financial plan development.
  • Leading client meetings and serving as primary point of contact for clients with less than $1 million in assets under management.
  • Preparing and reviewing financial plans and meeting materials, delivering financially optimal  recommendations, and communicating with clients regarding meeting follow-up items.
  • Organizing and tracking implementation of recommendations.
  • Proactively responding to client inquiries and requests in a timely manner.
  • Conducting analysis on client specific situations (e.g., mortgage refinance, employee benefits review, stock option plans, etc.).
  • Implementing investment recommendations and monitoring investment portfolios for rebalancing opportunities.
  • Helping train and develop Associate Financial Planners.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in financial planning or closely related field required.
  • CFP® designation required.
