Before joining the Elwood & Goetz Wealth Advisory Group, Riley founded and served as President of Penta Investment Counsel, an independent wealth advisory firm headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri. In that role, he advised high-net-worth individuals and families on portfolio strategy, asset allocation, and long-term wealth planning, emphasizing disciplined decision-making and a client-first philosophy.

Over the course of his career, Riley has earned six investment securities designations, reflecting his commitment to professional excellence and continued professional development. His experience across multiple market cycles provides clients with valuable perspective and steady guidance in both evolving and uncertain financial environments.

Riley holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business with an emphasis in Finance from the University of Kansas. As part of Elwood & Goetz’s fee-only fiduciary advisory model, he provides objective investment advice designed to align fully with the best interests of his clients.

Outside of the office, Riley enjoys hiking, playing tennis, and giving back to the community as a volunteer youth basketball coach. His dedication to mentorship and service reflects the same values of trust, stewardship, and long-term commitment that define his work with clients.
